Can you choose?

Over five million working Australians are eligible for Super Choice. To find out whether you can choose, please ask your employer. In the meantime, here's a simple guide.

You are eligible if:

  • you are covered by a Federal award
  • you are not covered by any award or registered agreement
  • you are covered by a State award and your employer is a constitutional corporation.

If you answered YES to any of the above click here.

You are not eligible if:

  • you are covered by a State award, and you are not employed by a constitutional corporation
  • you are covered by an Australian workplace agreement (AWA), certified or collective agreement, or
  • you are covered by an industrial agreement registered by State award (Preserved State Agreement).

If you’re not eligible, some employers may still let you make a choice. Speak to your employer about your options.

If you are unsure at all about what award or agreement you are covered by, or whether your superannuation contributions are being made to a super fund to satisfy an award or agreement, ask your employer, visit www.wagenet.gov.au or www.superchoice.gov.au or contact your relevant industry body.
