Super Choice

Over five million working Australians are eligible for Super Choice.

Super Choice allows eligible employees to nominate the super fund into which their Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contributions are paid. For many businesses Super Choice can be a daunting prospect, but not if you're with HOSTPLUS.

HOSTPLUS has always done its utmost to make super as easy as possible to manage for employers, and as financially rewarding as possible for our members. Our approach to Super Choice is no different. We believe the Government's Super Choice legislation needn't be difficult to understand, nor difficult for you to implement.

To meet your obligations under Choice of Fund legislation, you must:

  • identify eligible employees
  • choose an employer fund (default fund) for those employees who do not make a choice of their own
  • provide eligible new employees with a Standard Choice Form within 28 days of commencement of employment
  • take action on an employee’s valid choice of fund within two months of receiving the details of their chosen fund.
