Leave your retirement savings in hands you trust
You've worked hard to grow your retirement savings over the years, and now’s the time to finally put your feet up and enjoy it.
To help make the next phase of your life simple to manage, we offer the HOSTPLUS pension – it’s a great way to secure a regular income for your retirement. What's more, you can continue to enjoy all the benefits of being a HOSTPLUS member even after you retire.
What is a pension plan?
A pension invests your accumulated superannuation into a fund that continues to earn interest, while making regular payments into your bank account throughout your retirement.
Basically, it’s a simple, easy-to-manage account that gives you a regular ‘payday’ during retirement - much like your salary while you were working, by drawing on your super benefit.
A pension can also be very tax-effective, as no tax is payable on your pension account's investment earnings at any age, and the income you receive as a pension is also tax free once you reach 60.
With a HOSTPLUS Pension you’re in control
You decide the frequency and amount of your pension payments. You can also choose from a range of investment options across different asset classes. You can access your account online. In most cases, you can also withdraw some (or even all) of your account at any time as a lump sum. For example, to meet an unexpected cost, for a new car, holiday or for renovations. It's your money so you decide how and when you'd like it.

Transition to retirement
You don’t have to be ready to retire just yet to benefit from a pension. Once you reach 55 - and are still working – you can consider using a transition to retirement strategy (TTR) to prepare for your retirement years ahead. With a TTR you can reduce the time you work while still receiving the same take-home pay – what could be better than that?
